Scale – Elm

Chinese Elm trees are susceptible to a scale insect called Elm Scale. It infests the smaller branches and twigs of the tree. Over time it can build up in numbers severe enough to stress and debilitate the tree. You can spray the tree with horticultural oil when the temperatures are below eighty degrees. This will suffocate the pest. If that action is not successful enough or if you don’t have the equipment, we can take care of the problem for you. We can spray it with oil or with the year-long control of a systemic application. Please contact us if you need any more information, or would like to find out about how to protect your trees from Elm scale.
